1. Grace

From the recording Grace

From a little ep we did in 1993. Marcos Fernandes played the percussion and steady Eddy Summerfield played bass. David's foray with the viola. I love this song. The riff is from Sudanese dance music. Some of the lyrics are Rilke, some are Joseph Campbell. The Mary Ford vocal on the choruses was completely last minute.

Love, like water, is always there. There is a grace she cannot capture, even in her underwear. She's sure he said, "You are time and space." She's sure he said, "You are the planet." She's sure he said, "Put your little foot right down."
